Explain in your own words, the FOUR key recommendations of the report.
Key Recommendation 1:
The first recommendation is housing for the elderly. This is so that there is a variety of houses for the elderly to choose from, to suit their own needs. This is so that the elderly can choose what kind of house they want, depending wether they are living with family, or alone. This is also so that housing for them is cheaper so if they are financially independent, they can purchase their own houses
Key Recommendation 2:
The second recommendation is accessibility for the elderly. The report aims to make Singapore a place that is elderly friendly, in the sense that the surrounding environment for them is obstruction free and easily accessible. This is so that the elderly can interact with the social community without any danger, or hassle. This is also so that the elderly can travel independently from place to place, without having to rely on some on help them across stairs or some other form of obstruction
Key Recommendation 3:
The third recommendation is care for the elderly. The report wants there to be more healthcare and other services for the elderly. This is so that the elderly take care of themselves
Key Recommendation 4:
The fourth recommendation is opportunities during old age for the elderly. The elderly need to be engaged in activities during their golden years and the report recommends the government do so.

After reading the CAI report, what do you are the THREE things that you can do, as an SST student, to help overcome these elderly challenges
We can make minor changes to our lifestyle so that the elderly can live it up better . E.g., at the MRTs, I have seen many people including SST students rush into the lifts, and sometime when there is no space for the elderly, they would rather use the stairs to avoid getting caught in the crowd as the escalators themselves are already crowded so there is no alternative
When the elderly face any challenge, such as going down stairs and such, we can help them whenever we see them
We can help them by holding events to engage the elderly in activities to help them meet more people and have fun in their golden years.
